Founded in 1985, Elda Trade with its name born from the initials of the co – founders Elio and David Contigiani began trading in leather offcuts, used mainly for small leather goods, handbags and even sandals.

After only a few months we began patchwork bag production and thanks to many outworkers we were producing over 1000 pieces a day.

Gradually the patchwork bag market declined so we started introducing some classic hide collections ranging from travel bags to small leather goods, ladies handbags, briefcases, key cases and even slippers.

In recent times we have strengthened our design team and developed more casual and fashion lines to appeal to younger consumers and hence further our markets.

Currently we trade under 2 brands: Gianni Conti and Alex & Co.

Gianni Conti is aimed at a medium to high end consumer with varied clients including John Lewis in UK, El Corte Ingles in Spain and Portugal, specialist leather goods shops and many others.

The Alex and Co. brand is a more economical line designed for wholesalers and big disribution chains
